I love stock photos. But I hate cancer. So I’m combining my love/hate relationship with these two things for Frocktober this year – yes, I’m doing it again!
How? Meet stocking: stockingisthenewplanking.com.
Stocking is a daft — but obvious — term coined by a couple of designers “to describe the act of finding a stock photo from an image service bureau and recreating it”.
Doesn’t that look like fun? It does! So I’m going to do it while wearing a frock. Every day for the month of October, aka Frocktober. And raising money – hopefully – to fight cancer of the lady parts (completely SFW link, what do you think this is?!)
You know the deal; I did it last year: you got to see parts of my legs (woo!) and I raised around $1200 to help fund research into an early detection test for ovarian cancer, one of the more deadly cancers around. Let’s do it all again this year, with some stock-photo fun.
Also, bonus! This year, you can donate via the website and all that jazz. Please do. Donations over $2 are tax deductible, baby! All donations come with added warm & fuzzies.
Feel free to suggest stock photos for me to, um, stock; no guarantees of satisfaction!
