I love stock photos. But I hate cancer. So I’m combining my love/hate relationship with these two things for Frocktober this year – yes, I’m doing it again!
How? Meet stocking: stockingisthenewplanking.com.
Stocking is a daft term coined by a couple of designers (clearly not wordsmiths) “to describe the act of finding a stock photo from an image service bureau and recreating it”. Please visit their website and give them love and credit.
It looks like this:
Doesn’t that look like fun? It does! So I’m going to copy the idea, while wearing a frock. Every day for the month of October, aka Frocktober. And raising money – hopefully – to fight cancer of the lady parts.
You know the deal; I did it last year: you got to see parts of my legs (woo!) and I raised around $1200 to help fund research into an early detection test for ovarian cancer, one of the more deadly cancers around. Let’s do it all again this year, with some stock photo fun.*
Feel free to suggest stock photos; I’ll feel free to ignore any suggestions I don’t like / are too difficult / are too revealing – I know what kind of filth turns up on stock photo sites!
Also, bonus! This year, you can donate via the website and all that jazz. Please do. Donations over $2 are tax deductible. All donations come with added warm & fuzzies.
* Not guaranteed to be either fun or stocking, per se.
