Why does she have a pitchfork? Why?!
On the left: a dirndl. On the right, not a dirndl. Fun fact: a not-dirndl dirndl is called a Landhausmode, says Wikipedia. Basically, it’s a dirndl-style dress, inspired by the booby Bavarian outfit. Or, a jumper, as the Americans inexplicably call them.
Anyway, it’s October. So here’s the closest I get to an Octoberfest outfit. I don’t have the cans for the real thing.
This Landhausmode is more Manque gear, from that closing down sale. I wasn’t going to get it as it seemed frivolous to buy two dresses but when I tried it on about 394 female strangers — fellow customers — all went: “you look great in it, it really suits you” etc. Far be it from me to avoid peer pressure. Besides, it was something like 70% off.
Using the Pitchfork rating system, I give this photo a 4.7. Give it a lower (or higher) score? Tell me in donations: www.everydayhero.com.au/mellygoround
